TIP to select the correct intermediate wheel for missing date work.
Locate the thick wheel sandwiched between the hour wheel and the snail count the number of teeth on the thick wheel and double the number, this is the tooth requirement for the new wheel. To select the correct diameter:- locate the post or hole where the post for the intermediate date wheel was, measure from the centre of the post/hole to the edge of the thick wheel, this is the radius, double this and add 4mm to the total.
